When technical problems knocked out the sound in the room after just a few songs, the D.J., Amrit Singh of the indie-rock blog Stereogum (stereogum.com), began playing Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” while Ms. Estella and Mr. Cardona sang along, taking the indignity in stride. At the end of the show, after “Lady Daydream,” Mr. Singh played the song again, and while the rest of the band walked off stage, Ms. Estella swayed and sang along. “You should all stay ’cause I want to dance,” she said. “We’re going to make it so much hotter in here.
I’m DJing the Twin Sister EP release show tomorrow night at Glasslands. (I promise to spin hits, if the charts were owned only by the bands that we love.) Doors at 9, which is also when the open vodka bar starts. I’ve managed to see Twin Sister something seven times since first hearing their Vampires Dreaming With Kids EP. Color Your Life, the six-song set they’re releasing, is a significant step up (see: “All Around And Away We Go”). They sound (and look) great in that room. There’s a cute flyer and everything. I’m trying to find a reason you shouldn’t come, but there isn’t one.
